To open either you need an application form, a current license, social security number and your email. In a credit card the money is not subtracted from your account but you have to pay back your transactions often with some interests at some time which can be beneficial as it does build credit. On the other hand debit cards subtract the money directly from your account. When choosing a either a savings account you should consider your financial situation. If you have enough money to start a savings account you should as sometimes it requires a fee to open. A checking account is almost necessary for paying bills and every adult should have them. Choosing a debit or credit card is dependent on your opinion. If you want to build credit choose a credit card and if you want money directly subtracted from your account then pick a debit card.
